Acute pelvic inflammatory disease, endocarditis prophylaxis for dental procedures in patients allergic to penicillin, intestinal amebiasis in patients who can't receive metronidazole, mild to moderately severe respiratory tract, skin, and soft-tissue infections, Syphilis, Legionnaire's Disease, uncomplicated urethral, endocervical, or rectal infections, urogential Chlamydia trachomatis infections during pregancy, Conjunctivitis, Pneumonia of infancy, topical treatment of Acne Vulgaris, prophylaxis of ophthalmia neonatorum, ear infection in children.

(Children) Calculate on basis of erythromycin (50 mg/kg/day) or sulfisoxazole (150mg/kg/day to max of 6g/day); give in equally divided doses 3 or 4 times daily for 10 days.

Upset stomach, allergic reaction, rash, ventricular arrhythmias, bilateral reversible hearing loss, abdominal pain, cholestatic jaundice, pruritus.

X: Studies in animals or humans show fetal abnormalities, or adverse reaction reports
indicate evidence of fetal risk. Warning: the risks involved clearly outweigh any
potential benefit from using the drug in pregnant women, regardless of trimester.
