Lymphatic dysplasia
|

- This is fetal malformation of lymphatic vessels, usually around the head and neck.
|
|
- A soft bulge beneath the skin in the
head
or neck. - It can be single or multiple.
|
|
- It occurs when jugular lymph vessels
are obstructed due to a lack of communication between the
cervical lymphatic vessels and the jugular venous system.
- These lymphatic vessels normally would drain freely into the jugular venous system.
- It is usually associated with chromosomal anomalies such as monosomy X, trisomy 21, and Noonan syndrome.

- Ultrasound scan

- Small cysts may not require any treatment.
- Laser treatment for mouth lesion
- Surgical removal
- An injection of attenuated bacteria (OK432) into cysts
|
|
- Cyst infection
- Internal bleeding into the cysts
